Mariam Kvrivishvili Met with Chairman of Major Chinese Energy Company Geo-Jade Petroleum Corporation

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili held a meeting with Huanglong Chen, Chairman of the major Chinese energy company Geo-Jade Petroleum Corporation, during her visit to the PRC. Prospects for bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting.

Mariam Kvrivishvili introduced the head of Geo-Jade Petroleum to the business and investment environment in Georgia. The conversation focused on Georgia-China strategic relations, emphasizing that the Free Trade Agreement and bilateral visa-free travel make the Georgian market even more attractive to investors.

The Chinese side expressed interest in Georgia’s oil and gas sector.

Geo-Jade Petroleum Corporation is a Chinese oil and gas company with a market capitalization of 1,5 billion USD and 2P reserves equivalent to 1,3 billion barrels of oil. The company operates in global markets and manages upstream assets in various countries.

Deputy Ministers Genadi Arveladze and Irakli Nadareishvili, Director of Enterprise Georgia Mikheil Khidureli, Director of the State Agency of Oil and Gas Giorgi Tatishvili, and the Georgian Envoy to China Besik Sharashidze also participated in the meeting.
