Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with Nokerguly Atagulyev, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was held within the framework of the official visit and the parties discussed prospects of deepening economic cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the significant role of foreign trade, as well as regional initiatives implemented with the active participation of Georgia and Turkmenistan.
The conversation also covered the potential of Georgia’s transit corridor. The Turkmen side expressed interest in developing warehousing and logistics infrastructure at Georgian ports. Readiness for cooperation was expressed regarding the digital transformation of the maritime sector and the implementation of the National Maritime Single Window (NMSW) system.
As Mariam Kvrivishvili noted, Georgia aims to become a regional digital hub, connecting Europe and Asia through the Black Sea submarine cable and developed infrastructure.
The Parties also discussed cooperation in the field of tourism. Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Tamar Ioseliani, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, Deputy Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia Ilia Shamugia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan Konstantine Sabiashvili, and Director General of Georgian Railway Lasha Abashidze, also attended the meeting
