President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, accompanied by his spouse and a state delegation, arrived in Georgia for an official visit.

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met the President of Serbia at the Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport. According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, this visit holds special significance and weight for strengthening the existing trade and economic relations between the two countries. She also emphasized that this is a historic visit, as it marks the first time the President of Serbia is visiting Georgia.

„The visit of the President of Serbia will carry immense significance in terms of strengthening trade and economic relations between our countries, as the visit will include crucial bilateral meetings, including between the leaders. The importance of the visit is further highlighted by the ongoing, highly important negotiations between Georgia and Serbia aimed at signing a free trade agreement.

I would like to note that this agreement will be of great benefit to both countries; it will increase trade turnover. The progress we are making during the ongoing negotiations with Serbia is particularly noteworthy. We believe that signing a free trade agreement between two states in such a short period will be a precedent-setting decision that will boost bilateral trade and economic relations and increase exports from Georgia, which will certainly be vital for the further development of our country’s economy,“ – Mariam Kvrivishvili stated.
