Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, met with Rudolf Huliak, Minister of Tourism and Sport of the Slovak Republic.

The parties discussed issues regarding the deepening of bilateral partnership, cooperation in the tourism sector and the expansion of air traffic.

During the meeting, bilateral economic relations were addressed, with a particular focus on enhancing cooperation in tourism. According to data from the first two quarters of 2026, the number of visitors from Slovakia was increased by 67% compared to the same period of last year. It was noted that direct air connectivity has significantly contributed to strengthening tourist and economic ties since currently, direct flights operate between Kutaisi and Bratislava 3 times a week.

Given the high demand for passenger traffic between the two countries, the Georgian side expressed its readiness to support expanding the geography of direct flights to Slovakia from other international airports in Georgia.
The sides positively evaluated the first Georgia-Slovakia Tourism Forum held in 2026, which facilitated closer cooperation between the public and private sectors of both nations.

The meeting highlighted the importance of Slovakia’s support for Georgia in both bilateral and international formats.

Genadi Arveladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, and Maia Omiadze, Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration also participated in the meeting.
