Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, met with Soopakij Chearavanont, Chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group), one of the largest Thai conglomerates.
The parties discussed potential future cooperation across various sectors. Emphasis was placed on Georgia’s economic trends, its liberal business and investment environment and governmental business support programs.
The Georgian side highlighted the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project, which the government is developing using the internationally proven Landlord model, as well as the modernization of the railway and the new Tbilisi International Airport.
The meeting also focused on the potential of Georgia’s energy sector and its ongoing and planned energy projects. Furthermore, progress on the Black Sea Submarine Cable and the Green Energy Corridor project was emphasized.
Charoen Pokphand Group, one of Thailand's largest conglomerates, operates in 23 countries and employs over 456000 people. The business group active in various sectors, including food and agribusiness, retail and e-commerce, telecommunications, real estate, infrastructure, finance and automotive industry.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili, Director of Enterprise Georgia Mikheil Khidureli, and General Director of the Georgian Economy Development Corporation Irakli Gabriadze also attended the meeting.
