Giorgi Cherkezishvili at Georgia-Germany Business Forum in Hamburg

Georgia-Germany Business Forum was held in Hamburg, Germany. Over 50 representatives of German and Georgian companies participated in the Forum. Chair of the Eastern European Committee of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce Mirco Nowak, Georgian Deputy Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Cherkezishvili, State Secretary for Economy, Transport and Innovations of the Hamburg Local Municipality Andreas Rieckhof and the Head of the Procredit Bank Board Christoph Freytag opened the Conference.

As the participants of the event noted, the forum was very important in terms of acquainting German businessmen with the business environment and opportunities in Georgia, attracting German investors, deepening trade-economic relations and getting Georgian and German business sectors closer.

Participants of the forum discussed important issues related to trade, investment, financial sector, energy, logistics and agriculture. It was noted that such forums greatly contribute to the development of the trade relations between the countries. After the forum, B2B meetings were held on the issues of future cooperation. 

The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of Georgia to Germany organized the Georgian-German Business Forum. The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Cherkezishvili was in charge of the Georgian delegation composed of the representatives of the various government agencies as well as the private sector.

Within the framework of the Forum, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Georgian Business Association and the Eastern European Business Association of Germany.
