26-12-2017

Hotline 1484 to inform the interested citizens on a gradual enactment of the periodic technical inspection of the motor vehicles will be launched on January 3, 2018, following the initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

From January 1, 2018, passenger (above 8 seats) and cargo (above 3.5 tons) cars will be required to pass mandatory technical inspections, which will be later required for the vehicles belonging to the state and legal entities as well as large volume car (3.0 and above) owners, etc. By the end of 2019, the entire fleet registered in Georgia will be fully inspected.

The schedule will be specified according to the date of vehicle registration (month and year), which will give the vehicle owners enough time to prepare for the technical inspection and also prevent the risks of queues.

The hotline 1484 will be available from fixed and mobile networks of common use only with a hot line number of 1484. In addition to consulting, hotline operators will help the citizens in the online booking of the vehicle testing. Using the hotline service does not lead to additional taxes.
