“The enterprise that we have opened today is one of the best examples of how the Enterprise Georgia project is being implemented in Georgia and how high results can be achieved in this direction,” – the First Vice Prime Minister stated at the opening of a new enterprise of the company Liderfood. With the support of the Enterprise Georgia Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Liderfood, one of the largest producers of the meaet products in Georgia, launched a new enterprise with 22 million GEL investments and created over 500 new jobs.
“This is a building of over 5600m² and the facility is equipped with the latest technology and will produce the highest quality products. New enterprise provided jobs for 550 people. This project was co-financed by the Enterprise Georgia and therefore, it is constructed and invested jointly,” – Dimitry Kumsishvili noted.
Liderfood Ltd uses the financial component of the program Enterprise Georgia of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, which means that the bank loan interest payable by the Liderfood amounting to over half a million GEL, was co-financed by the Enterprise Georgia Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia during the two years.
The modern enterprise is equipped with the high-tech manufacturing equipment, which enables the company to produce the products in full compliance with the European standards. According to the company’s representatives, the new enterprise has started to develop and implement food safety and management systems, which include international quality standards, namely the FSSC 22000: 2005, which incorporates ISO 22000, ISO 22002.1, ISO 9001 certificates.
Following the increased production capacity, the Liderfood plans to increase the share of the Georgian meat in the production, which will facilitate the development of the Georgian farmers.
