Wizz Air, the largest low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, is to launch a new direct flight between Kutaisi and London (Luton).

According to the United Airports of Georgia, the first flight from Kutaisi to London will be performed on June 18, this year, which will be followed by two regular flights per week on Thursdays and Sundays. All flights will be performed by the 180-seated Airbus A320 and the 230-seated Airbus A321 type aircrafts.

Passengers can already purchase tickets, which are available only from 105.99 GEL (£ 34.99) on the Wizz Air web-site - www.wizzair.com.

Low cost flights between Georgia and the Great Britain, which is an excellent opportunity for the tourism and business purposes, will contribute to the development of the tourism, business and bilateral trade relations between the two countries.

“Considering our interest in the region, we will continue the productive cooperation with the Kutaisi International Airport and provide the Georgian passengers with even more interesting opportunities complying with their needs,” - Sorina Ratz, the Communications Manager at Wizz Air stated.

Wizz Air offers a continuously expanding network of the flight destinations and provides the Georgian passengers with 12 low fare flights to the 9 European countries. In September 2016, by opening at the Kutaisi International Airport its 25th base, the company made an important effort towards attracting the additional investments and creating more jobs in Georgia.

In 2016, Wizz Air provided service for 168 000 passengers in Georgia and an annual growth of 35% saw recorded, which contributed to the growth of the employment in the fields of the local aviation and tourism as well as to the creation of additional 126 jobs on the local market.
