Average Monthly Nominal Earnings Increased by 8,0% And Reached a Second Quarter Record High of 2389,3 GEL in Second Quarter Of 2026

In the second quarter of 2026, against the backdrop of high economic activity in the country, positive dynamics were maintained in the labor market. The average monthly nominal earnings of hired employees increased by 8,0% (177,3 GEL) compared to the same period of the previous year and equaled 2,389,3 GEL, which is a record high for the second quarter.

Wage increases were recorded in almost all economic sectors. In the financial and insurance activities, the average monthly nominal earnings grew by 9,2%, while in professional, scientific and technical activities, the growth reached 10,3%.

As for the mining and quarrying sector, the growth of average monthly nominal earnings in second quarter was 9,1%, and in the human health and social work activities sector, it was 12,7%.

In the information and communication sector, nominal wage growth stood at 5,4%, while in transportation and storage, it was 9,0%.

The average monthly nominal earnings increased by 12,5% in accommodation and food service activities, and in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities, the growth rate reached 14,0%.

In the arts, entertainment and recreation sector, average monthly nominal earnings grew by 9,2% in the second quarter, while in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, the increase was 6,2%.

In administrative and support service activities, average monthly nominal earnings grew at a rate of 8,7%, and in the manufacturing sector – by 6,2%.

It is noteworthy that wage growth was observed in both the business and non-business and financial sectors. Earnings of employees in the business sector in the second quarter of 2026 was increased by 6,6% compared to the same period of the previous year and totaled 2471,5 GEL, while earnings of employees in the non-business and financial sector increased by 10,6% to reach 2239,0 GEL.

The measures implemented by the Government of Georgia to support the economy contribute to strengthening economic activity and the labor market, which positively reflects on the earnings of hired employees.
